Industry

A form of industrial use of Edwards Aquifer groundwater. Flour mills were originally located near rivers so that water could be used to power the water wheels that ground the flour. For the 10-year period of record (1994-2003), pumping for industrial/commercial purposes accounted for 8.7 % of groundwater pumped from the Edwards Aquifer.
