Byron Miller
District 2 - Bexar County
Byron Miller is a member of the Edwards Aquifer Authority Board of Directors, representing District 2, which covers an eastern-central portion of Bexar County. Mr. Miller serves on the Permits/Enforcement Committee of the board. He was elected to the board of directors in 2006 to fill an unexpired term and then re-elected in 2008. His current term expires December 1, 2012.
Mr. Miller, a resident of San Antonio, is an insurance broker. He is a graduate of Sam Houston High School in San Antonio and Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the nation’s prestigious Historically Black Colleges.
Mr. Miller has been involved for many years in various community service activities for which he has received numerous accolades and awards. These include serving on the boards of the Witte Museum, the Carver Cultural Events Center, and the Houston Street TIFF, as well as the East Area Council of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the Coliseum Advisory Board and the San Antonio Branch – NAACP. He is a member of the Eastside Optimist Club, a former scoutmaster, and a Texas Emancipation Juneteenth Cultural Commissioner.
