Luana Buckner - Chairman

District 13 - Medina/Atascosa Counties

Luana Buckner is chairman of the Edwards Aquifer Authority Board of Directors.  She represents District 13, which covers the eastern half of Medina County and a portion of Atascosa County. Ms. Buckner was first elected to the board of directors in 1996 and was re-elected in 1998, 2002, and 2006. Her current term expires December 1, 2010. As chairman, Ms. Buckner presides over the board’s Executive Committee.
Ms. Buckner, a resident of Medina County, is General Manager of the Medina County Groundwater Conservation District, a position she has held since 1992. She attended Southwest Texas Junior College and is a graduate of Uvalde High School.
Ms. Buckner is a member of the Texas Water Conservation Association Board of Directors, and is a member of the Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts, the National Groundwater Association, and the Medina County Farm Bureau. She also represents groundwater interests on the Water Conservation Advisory Council.
