Water Advisory Committee
Jerry James is the appointed, non-voting member of the Edwards Aquifer Authority Board of Directors representing the South Central Texas Water Advisory Committee (SCTWAC). Mr. James serves on the board’s Aquifer Management Planning Committee, Finance/Administrative Committee, and Permits/Enforcement Committee. He is also the at-large member of the Executive Committee. Mr. James was appointed to fill an unexpired term on the board in February 2008. He was reappointed in December 2008 for a term that expires December 1, 2012.
Mr. James, a resident of Victoria, Texas, is director of environmental services for the City of Victoria, where he was instrumental in converting the city’s water system from groundwater to surface water. He is also a charter member of the Region L Planning Group and serves on the Edwards Aquifer Recovery Implementation Program Steering Committee as a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) appointee.
Mr. James, who holds a bachelor of arts degree in public management from the University of Houston at Clear Lake, also holds class A TCEQ licenses as a water operator and waste water operator.
