Well Construction

The EAA issues permits for all new construction, reconstruction, or closure to wells that withdraw groundwater from, or pass through, the Edwards Aquifer. The purpose of this well construction permit program is to ensure that certain quality standards aimed at preventing waste or contamination of groundwater through poorly constructed or deteriorated wells. 

Anyone who intends to drill a well into or through the Edwards Aquifer, must file one of the following applications for a permit with the EAA.

Please include a check or money order for the processing of each application as follows: $35 for each Edwards Aquifer Well Construction Application submitted; and $25 for each Drill Through the Edwards Aquifer Well Construction Application submitted.
