Groundwater Conservation Grants
The EAA supports conservation efforts through a grant program that helps Edwards groundwater users implement projects and practices that help reduce their water use. Through this grant program, permit holders may fill out a conservation grant application (PDF) to apply for and receive funding for qualified conservation projects that result in saved groundwater. These grants are offered as an incentive for implementing water conservation practices across the EAA’s jurisdictional area.
In 2018, the EAA will issue a conservation grant request for proposal (RFP) PDF to solicit applications from irrigation permit holders to cover costs associated with projects that improve irrigation practices. Using a grant matrix, several factors will be considered when ranking applications, including the use of flood irrigation on farms. As such, if you are currently utilizing flood irrigation, please notify us and we will make sure to reach out to you when requests for proposals for water conservation grants are released in Spring 2018.
